BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Amy Worrell-Kneller
Board President
I am a non-profit attorney who graduated from Seattle University School of Law and have since spent my time passionately involved in non-profit support. I joined the Board in an effort to provide legal and organizational support to the schools, which has been incredibly fulfilling. I am proud to be a part of this organization and love the opportunity to be involved in such wonderful schools that provide loving, high quality care to the next generation.
Bryan Harris
Treasurer
I joined the GLPCC board soon after it was formed back in 2012 and served as the organization’s Treasurer since then. I have been a member of the Executive Committee since 2013 and was heavily involved with financing and development of Woodland Hall Preschool to expand GLPCC. I am a member of the Personal Committee and enjoy providing advice and assistance in budgeting and other financial activities.
Peggy King
Secretary
I am a registered nurse with 41 years of experience in Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department; international nursing services in Cambodia and Somalia; HIV research; and public health. I have spent the last 26 years working as a public health nurse for children in group care settings, including Head Start, Early Head Start, ECEAP and child care centers. I came to GLPCC when my youngest son began attending as a one year old. I loved how Pammy made eye contact with every child who entered the room and worked to make them know that they were loved, appreciated and belonged. I joined the board to share my child care expertise as the program works on continuous quality improvement.

I have been involved with Green Lake Preschool and Child Care since 1991, and was instrumental in helping to spin it off as a separate entity in 2012. However, I didn’t become a full-fledged Board member until 2020. My career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with Clark Nuber PS centered around serving not-for-profit organizations as advisor and auditor, so after I retired from public accounting, being on the Board was a natural fit. I love that it allows me to continue to assist in the growth and success of this wonderful little school. Its values and mission and its focus on kids’ holistic development and long-term success in the world, resonate with my own values. I’m happy to be able to serve in this way.

I’m an alumni parent of GLPCC. My son, who is now a freshman in high school, was at GLPCC from his first birthday until he headed to kindergarten. He, my husband, and I all had a great experience, and I’ve always been a strong supporter! His kindergarten teacher told me that she could tell he had a high quality preschool experience, because he was both ready for kindergarten and had also learned fairness and good social skills. I was a Head Start kid, so I know the value of quality early childhood education. I’m now the managing partner at a Seattle law firm. When I was asked to serve on the board, I gladly accepted. I’ve been on the board for several years, and I’ve served as the President in the past. I value the chance to continue GLPCC’s tradition of kindness and excellence.
ADMINISTRATORS
Lisa Skylynd
Executive Director
While earning my BS and MS in early childhood education/child development at The Ohio State University, I dove passionately into my career, working to positively impact the lives of children. For over 30 years, I have supported young children, their families, and teachers in the roles of director, head of school, training and curriculum specialist, preschool teacher, and university instructor. I believe children blossom in an engaging, active-learning environment and that we all thrive in a rich, caring community. Nurturing our classroom and parent community resides at the core of my leadership goals.
Julia Doughtie
Assistant Director
Originally from Florida, teaching has taken me across the world. It is my lifelong mission to provide care, build creativity and self-esteem, and provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to thrive. Children are capable and powerful. I work to support classrooms where children enjoy learning, feeling inspired and self-assured. Art and nature play a strong role in engaging curriculum. I appreciate the opportunity to support children, families, and teachers at our school.
